FTC Kills, Not Reforms, Debt Settlement Industry

In September of last year, the Federal Trade Commission's sweeping regulations were poised to gut the debt settlement industry clean of the fraudulent and unethical practices that had exploited countless unsuspecting consumers. Now, approximately eight months later, it seems that the reforms went beyond cleaning up the industry -- they may have just killed it.
